Megan Gueli

USFS Tests Passed: Senior Freestyle, Senior Moves in the Field, Senior Pairs

As a skater, Megan was a national competitor in singles, pairs, and synchronized skating. In addition to competing internationally for the US in singles skating, she earned the titles of Regional Ladies Champion, Sectional Pairs Champion, and 3-time Synchronized Skating National Bronze Medalist. Her specialties include choreography and coaching all levels of freestyle. She has coached students at both the Regional and Sectional levels, and choreographed for skaters at the National and International levels.She is also a NASM certified personal trainer and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Movement Science from the University of Michigan, and Master of Science degree in Exercise Science from UCLA. 

She enjoys working with each skater to help him or her achieve his or her personal goals in the support, and loves the creative process of creating a program that will showcase their strengths to the judges.

Megan Salamon

Qualifications: Triple USFS Gold Medalist- Skating Skills, Freestyle and Pairs

Experience: Megan has over 10 years of coaching experience with the Chelsea Figure Skating Club. In that time, she has coached several skaters to gold medal tests in freestyle and skating skills. She has had skaters earn Regional medals, compete at the Midwest Sectional Championships, and choreographed for National level skaters. Many of her students have won numerous titles at the National Showcase Championships. She has enjoyed starting with skaters in basic skills and later working with them to land their first, second or third triple jumps!

 

Background: She started skating at the age of 6 and quickly developed a passion for the sport. She later became a Michigan high school state champion, EGL Regional Champion, Pacific Coast Sectional Champion, and a 2-time Junior National Competitor in singles, 3-time National competitor in pairs, and a 3-time National Medalist at the Collegiate Synchronized Skating Championships. She was the President of the U of M Skating Team for 2 years where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Movement Science. Then she went on to get a Masters Degree in Exercise Science from UCLA. 

She enjoys working with each individual to achieve the goals set by the skater, as well as the creative process of creating programs that fully highlight the skater's strengths. She believes training can teach a lot of life lessons that can be used outside of the rink, and that the journey should be fun and rewarding!

Amy Majeske
Learn to Skate Co-Coordinator

Amy has been coaching at the Coliseum Figure Skating Club for 20 years, and spent several years as a synchronized skater herself. She is certified with U.S. Figure Skating, and has the credentials to take kids to basic skills competitions, as well as USFS non-qualifying competitions and test sessions. She is confident and up-to-date with coaching skaters from all levels of basic skills up through the Juvenile level. She is a strong believer that honest hard work can also be lots of fun!

Amelia Hatcher-Kay

Qualifications: Gold Skating Skills, Gold Freestyle, Silver Solo Dance

Amelia has been coaching for almost 10 years. She is a Intercollegiate National Competitor, and also served as President of the University of Michigan Skating Team this past year. She is an EGL Regionals competitor in singles and a two-time Midwestern Synchronized Skating Sectionals competitor, as well as a USFS National Showcase finalist in both individual and team events with multiple national top ten finishes. Amelia is currently certified to coach students in basic skills and USFS competitions and test sessions. A Senior at the University of Michigan with her focal studies being Movement Science.

Madison Majeske

USFS Tests Passed: Gold Freestyle, Gold Movies in the Field

Madison grew up skating in the Chelsea Figure Skating Club. She started out in learn to skate, and later became the first club member to land 3 triple jumps. Madison is a 3-time National Showcase Champion, and a multiple time National Showcase medalist. She is  a National Qualifying Series Competitor, and finished 5th in the Eastern Great Lakes Region at the Pre-Gold Well-balanced level. She is currently a sophmore at the University of Michigan, where she skates on high team and Senior for the University of Michigan Freestyle Skating Team.
